Red Rooster Cookies

I try to stay away from things that I know will be no good for me.  For instance, about a 1/2 mile from my apartment there is a this sign by the road for Red Rooster Cookies.  They have the cutest rooster picture (I have a bizarre obsession with roosters) and of course its cookies.  Lucky for me most of their business hours are during my work day.  It would take careful planning for me to be able to visit.  And thus for 2 years I was able to stay away.

Then Living Social came along and ruined me.  There was a coupon for 50% off. Can you imagine what strength I had to stay away for two years? I eyed the website but never got any closer to the cookies.  This coupon was my down fall.

A coupon for cookies?  It took about 30 seconds for me to click purchase.

I actually had to try pretty hard to convince Mr. J to come with me to the little shop.  It didn't take all of two seconds though before he had quickly seized the opportunity to pick the 6 cookies we would be taking with us.

They are the nice thick and chewy kind.  My favorite way to have a cookie.  We got Snickerdoodle, Bailey's Irish Cream, the Red Rooster special (cranberries, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and walnuts), Triple chocolate, and Toffee.

Very democratically we cut each one in half to share.  Clearly we know the secret to making our marriage last.

Oh my were they good. And then there was the coffee cake.  A mini bundt cinnamon sour cream coffee cake.  It was so moist and delicious.

I just don't know how I am going to be able to stay away any more.
