Weekend Edition: Goodbye 2012
Somewhere in all the craziness of the last few weeks my body gave up and I got sick. The last few days have included little activity, lots of tea, and homemade soup. Mr. J is adamant that tea cures all. I think vitamin C does the trick. Basically I am floating away on OJ and tea.
I am hoping that my sniffles and sore throat will clear up and I can get back into the kitchen in time for New Year's treats.
In case you missed last week in all of the Christmas celebrations, here is what I was up to:
Have you tried sipping lemon juice and honey? It helps with the sore throat. I have a remedy for colds that my friend gave me:
Mix 1 egg yolk with some honey in a cup. Boil some milk on the stove. When the milk starts to simmer, add some crushed black pepper. Let it boil a little (but not boil over). Pour it into the egg yolk/honey mixture, stir and drink while hot.
I named it "Weird Eggnog", haha. It worked for everyone I gave it to. :)
awwww feel better!
