Chocolate Chip Cookies and the Story of Slippers

The new house is all hardwood floors thanks to us ripping out all of the nasty carpet upstairs. It looks fantastic but is now cold in the winter months. We don't know what some of the rooms will become nor do with the finances to go out and purchase rugs for these spaces right way.  I was always fine since I have snug LL Bean slippers.

My husband however was layering on the socks. I have never seen a person where so many socks at once.  It worked but was ridiculous.  In December I was bound and determined to get him slippers. My husband has big feet. It has always been a problem to find him shoes. Size 15 is not common in most stores. Heck some brands don't even go to that size.

After some research online I found him several Uggs and let him pick which one he liked best. He chose and I ordered a pair in size 15 right after Thanksgiving.  It took about 11 days for them to come. It seemed like eternity.  I excitedly open the box and handed them over for him to try on. He got them on, immediately took them off, pulled his socks off and put them back on.  He made a face. Apparently they were too small. Sometimes my husband has a tendency to make things work when they really should not.  He tried to downplay the tightness a bit before I made it clear these were expensive little babies and needed to fit right.

Off they went back to the warehouse in California.  Almost a month and a half after we initially bought them they arrived in Connecticut, the right size - 17, all warm and cozy. Now I am a bit jealous.

Which now brings us to the cookies. These cookies were made with the leftover dough from the chocolate chip cookie brownies last week.  They are thick and chewy, stocked full of chocolate chips.  Much needed after a long week.
