Can you believe it is June 10th? The year has flown by; I am hoping like will slow down a bit to enjoy the summer. I am kind of doubtful that life will actually slow down but I am going to try really hard to enjoy summer.
It's Friday and I am happy the weekend has almost arrived. Since my promotion, Friday has become a day of meetings. I am expecting it to be a pretty long day. To start it off right I am listing off some of my favorite HAPPY go-to things.
1. I am a little obsessed with city carts. In Paris all of the women own something similar to this cart to go shopping at the markets. All of my friends and I wanted one so badly. Crate and Barrel came out with this version this year. If I lived in a city it would be in my possession already. Isn't it pretty?
2. Fresh berries - summertime means fresh fruit. I love love love blueberries, strawberries and especially raspberries. I can and have been know to go a whole day consuming only berries and lots of them.
3. Chocolate chip cookies - They are the quintessential cookie. If I have one in my hand, the world looks good!
4. Clean House - nothing makes me happier than a clean and organized house. Cleaning is my therapy. It soothes me. No picture here because well, the apartment is NOT very clean. By Friday most weeks the apartment has become a mess. This is mainly due to my husband who does not believe in having to do house work during the work week. Apparently he can only manage one type of "work" at a time. I am going to pretend it is though.
Correction: Mr. J's "other" work includes mastering his golf swing and fishing cast.
5. Lattes and evening walks, enough said.

I think if you got one of those carts living here you might look like a homeless person :)
ReplyDeleteDo you have chocolate chip cookies? cause I would like to eat them.
I use my city cart here in The Bronx all the time. Laundromat and supermarket errands so much easier. I call it my granny cart I don't look very cool but easier on the arms LOL
ReplyDeleteThese things all make me happy too. Plus, this morning in KC, after days of way too much heat, I'm so happy to have a rainy day. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeletePlease send me some cookies! lol I'm in NW Kansas and I'm so glad the past two days have been cooler. Don't get me wrong, I love the heat, but a break is very nice.
ReplyDeleteLovely - always nice to count your blessings...
ReplyDeleteI heart lattes. They make everything better.
ReplyDeleteThere is just something about a clean house that makes you feel so good! Perfection if you can have that after making fresh chocolate chip cookies to sit and enjoy!
ReplyDeletethat shopping cart would make my grocery trips much easier. love the idea.
ReplyDeletethose cookies look great!!!
I totally want one of those city carts!
ReplyDeleteIts nice to sit back and reflect on the things that make you happy! great post!
ReplyDeleteTo second Kari's comment, anytime I see people using those carts (and I know they make sense in cities)I think they're homeless!
ReplyDeleteI love when things are organized and clean at my house too! Sadly, my place probably looks like yours by the end of the week. I blame the husband :) A chocolate chip cookie definitely helps me ignore the mess though!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the chocolate chip cookies. they do make l ife good!
