Who put the guac in the guacamole?

I find it somewhat cruel that even though this is a abbreviated week, it is going by slowly.  Is it really on Thursday?  The days are actually racing by but the weekend just doesn't seem to want to arrive.

To entertain my nights, I have been spending a bit more time in the kitchen. Last night I managed to burn at least one component in every dish for dinner.  Great huh?  Let's just say I am not going to post about that.  Instead I am going to show you one of my favorite things to eat guacamole.  Avocados have a soft spot in my heart. After all by very first post was an Ode to Avocados.

I just think their color is so pretty. Mr. J and I used to buy two at a time.  We would easily finish them both off in one night.  I have since tried to cut back our consumption to one at a time.

The silky, smooth texture makes me smack my lips.

Although I use avocados for sandwich toppers, my favorite use is guacamole.

My recipe is pretty basic:
1 tsp salsa
sometimes a dash of lemon juice

Combine together with a fork.

  1. hmm, not as delicious looking as your cookies and brownies, but that could be because I would like to live on cookies and brownies.

Still looks amazing! I've never actually made guac. I don't think I'd know how to pick out an avocado if I tried.

  2. I leave the guacamole making to my husband but I'm loving how easy your recipe sounds. I'm in charge of grabbing good tortilla chips to go with it.

  3. I'm pretty sure guacamole is my favorite veggie thing in the world! I made it for a Memorial Day BBQ and added cilantro and tomatillos. Delish!

  4. Guacamole might possibly be the best dip ever. I love to eat it with all sorts of things.

  5. Love guacamole! Yours is so simple!

  6. I love Guac! I make it all the time. There's four avocados staring at me at this very moment...guess what I'll be doing with them? :)

  8. I love making guac - it is so easy and there are so many different versions. I love to add cilantro to it.
